Village of Lynnhaven man arrested after allegedly attempting to steal toy figures from Michael’s

A Village of Lynnhaven man was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal toy figures from Michael’s at Rolling Acres Plaza.

Timothy James Moran, 51, of 859 Livingston Loop, walked out of the store at about 3 p.m. Tuesday with a hand-held basket full of merchandise, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

He was spotted outside of the store with the merchandise, put down the basket and fled on foot. He was apprehended in some bushes behind nearby Fiesta Bowl.

The basket contained toy cars, toy dragons, books and play sets valued at $320.80 without tax.

He was arrested on a charge of grand theft and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $2,000.

Moran had been arrested last year after Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called to a disturbance in the Village of Lynnhaven.
