A 57-year-old Villager arrested earlier this week in a shoplifting case at Bealls, has also been linked to the theft of items from a rental unit on the Historic Side of The Villages.

Last year, she was evicted from a home in the Village of Orange Blossom Gardens after failing to keep up with the $1,133.55 monthly rent, according to records on file with the Lake County Clerk of Court.

During the investigation into Monday’s shoplifting incident, it was discovered that Allen was also wanted on a Lake County warrant charging her with the theft of a TV from the rental unit on the Historic Side. The television had been discovered at Mark’s Jewelry & Pawn in Belleview.

The owner of the rental property had filed a report in December with the Lady Lake Police Department indicating that at the time Allen moved out, the television, a 2002 Club Car golf cart with charger and towels and bedding had gone missing.

Allen is free on $3,000 bond.
