Village of Rio Ponderosa woman arrested at The Villages Regional Hospital

A 50-year-old Village of Rio Ponderosa woman was arrested Sunday night after allegedly kicking a nurse in the stomach at The Villages Regional Hospital.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called to the hospital after Michele Ludwig allegedly kicked the nurse while the nurse was attempting to administer care, according to an arrest report. Another nurse was present and witnessed the attack.

Ludwig was arrested on a charge of battery. She was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.

Ludwig was arrested earlier this month following a traffic accident. She had to be tasered in that incident. The case is still pending in Sumter County Court.
