State Rep. Dennis Baxley of Ocala has filed paperwork to run for the Florida Senate seat now held by state Sen. Alan Hays, R-Umatilla.
Hays recently filed to run for the Lake County Supervisor of Elections position. You can read more about that HERE.
The District 12 Senate seat includes part of Marion, Lake and Sumter counties. Baxley, a Republican, is from Belleview.
