A 45-year-old Village of Tall Trees man with a history of breaking the law will have to return to court to explain why he had marijuana in his golf cart in the drive-up at Chick-Fil-A.
A Lady Lake police officer spotted the golf cart with its headlights on at about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 17. Knowing it was after hours and the restaurant in the Rolling Acres shopping plaza was closed, the officer went to check on the golf cart.
In the golf cart the officer found Devon Christopher Daily, of 2292 Oak Bend Place, who said he had been looking for a place to eat and did not realize the restaurant was closed, according to a report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Daily gave the officer permission to search the golf cart and marijuana was discovered.
This past June, Daily was cited by police for driving in his golf cart with an open beer, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. You can read about that incident HERE. He was already on probation at that time for breaking into his neighbor’s house and stealing his truck. You can read about that incident HERE.
He is due back March 8 in Lake County Court to answer to the latest marijuana charge.
