Woman trapped in vehicle after head-on collision near Bushnell

Sumter County Fire & EMS freed a woman who was trapped in a vehicle Friday morning after a head-on collision on the Wahoo curve west of Bushnell.

Units arrived on the scene of the accident at 11:19 a.m.

After the collision, the engine of an SUV involved in the crash erupted in flames. Good Samaritans who witnessed the accident were able to pull two of the accident victims away from the burning SUV prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.

It took 37 minutes to extricate the woman from the other vehicle.

All three victims of the accident were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
