A woman who attacked her boyfriend at a Villages laundromat has been ordered into a “Women’s Empowerment Program.”
Rose Macri, 24, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery after she charged at her boyfriend and punched him several times on Jan. 11 at the Rock and Wash laundromat on Bichara Boulevard at La Plaza Grande, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
Macri and her boyfriend had been arguing over dinner. Later at the laundromat, Macri was standing outside of the building and texting her boyfriend who was inside doing laundry.
After a few minutes of texting back and forth, she entered the laundromat and charged at him. She struck him in the head six times with her fist, the report indicated.
He provided a written sworn affidavit with the intent to prosecute. He and Macri had been living together for about a year at the time of the altercation.
Earlier this month, Macri agreed to enter into a pre-trial intervention program. She has been ordered to enroll in the “Women’s Empowerment Program” and must perform 25 hours of community service. She also has been ordered to stay away from her former boyfriend.
