Woman transported to Villages hospital after crash near Laurel Manor

A woman was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital after an accident Wednesday morning near Laurel Manor Recreation Center.

A woman driving a maroon SUV at 10:51 a.m. had been westbound on County Road 466 when she made a left turn into Laurel Manor Recreation Center and turned in front of a white SUV, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

This SUV landed on its side Wednesday morning on County Road 466 near Laurel Manor Recreation Center.

The maroon SUV landed on its side in the collision. An airbag deployed in the white SUV and the male driver suffered bruises.

The woman was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield.
