A woman driving a dually pickup truck has been ticketed in the wake of a crash in which a flipped BMW shut down traffic on County Road 466 for more than two hours on Tuesday afternoon.
Emily Lane Briggs, 23, of Reddick, had been at the wheel of the 2006 Ford dually which had been northbound on Cherry Lake Road/County Road 100 when she pulled onto CR 466 into the path of a 2016 four-door BMW driven by 31-year-old Joshua Craig Fain of Lakeland, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He had been westbound on CR466 at 4:45 p.m. when the front of his BMW struck the truck and flipped over.
He was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital.
Briggs was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield.
