Woman dies after being struck by vehicle in Winn-Dixie parking lot in Brooksville

A woman died Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle in a Winn-Dixie parking lot in Brooksville.

Maria Resendes Pavao, 67, of Weeki Wachee, had been walking in the crosswalk in the store parking lot at about 10 a.m. when she was struck by a 2016 Ford Escape driven by Mary E. Zemcik, 83, also of Weeki Wachee, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP was on the scene of the accident at Winn-Dixie.

Pavao was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital where she later died of injuries suffered in the accident.
