A woman arrested in the theft of more than $400 in merchandise from a local Wal-Mart store, claims a biker ordered her to steal the merchandise for his girlfriend.
Mary Elizabeth Moody-Lazabeck, 33, was arrested Sunday night after taking a bag loaded with $412 worth of merchandise from the store in Summerfield.
She fled across the parking lot, but was later taken into custody by Marion County sheriff’s deputies.
She claimed a biker named “Knucklehead” with the Outlaw motorcycle gang ordered her to steal the items for his girlfriend. Moody-Lazabeck said “Knucklehead” told her it would serve as a test of loyalty to the gang.
She was arrested on charges of retail theft and resisting arrest. She was booked at the Marion County Jail on $3,000 bond.
