Woman arrested in Village of Poinciana won’t be prosecuted in battery case

A 67-year-old Villager arrested in December after a fight with a man over money in the Village of Poinciana, won’t be prosecuted in the case.

Cheryl Marie Henderson, who lives in the Tanglewood Villas in the Village of Sabal Chase, was taken into custody Dec. 11 at a home on Bamberg Avenue.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called to the home after a man called 911. He told deputies he and Henderson had been arguing over money and he went to close a door “so the neighbors would not hear the verbal argument,” according to the arrest report. She grabbed him by the arm and pulled him away from the door. He added that she was “agitated and yelling at him.”

Last month in Sumter County Court, the prosecutor’s office announced no information would be filed in the case.
