Woman arrested on drunk driving charge in parking lot of Waterfront Inn

Megan Marie McDowell

A woman was arrested on a drunk driving charge early Friday morning in the parking lot of the Waterfront Inn at Lake Sumter Landing.

Megan Marie McDowell, 33, of Silver Springs, climbed behind the wheel of a white Nissan Versa before she was stopped by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy.

It appeared she had been drinking and was very unsteady on her feet, according to an arrest report.

She failed field sobriety exercises and refused to provide a breath sample.

McDowell was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
