Woman arrested in theft of purse from popular beachfront restaurant

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the theft of a purse at a popular beachfront restaurant.

Shellbe Margarette Marshall of Ocala was taken into custody Monday afternoon by a Marion County sheriff’s detective.

She stole the purse at Gator Joe’s at Lake Weir and then attempted to use a credit card taken from the purse at the Circle K store on County Road 25, according to an arrest report.

She was arrested on charges of petit theft, use of identification without consent and illegal use of a credit card.

Marshall is already on felony probation due to a previous conviction on a charge of grand theft.

She was being held without bond at the Marion County Jail.
