A woman was arrested after using a knife to threaten her boyfriend’s daughter on Monday in Ocala.
Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on 43 Pine Course in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim who advised that she and her father’s girlfriend, 56-year-old Madonna Ginelle Hendrix, got into a verbal argument. The argument escalated when Hendrix grabbed a knife and “came at her with it,” an arrest report stated. The argument began when the victim noticed that Hendrix had moved two bags of her clothes. The victim advised that the argument continued when Hendrix grabbed the large kitchen knife and began to charge at the victim with the knife in the air. She told deputies she was in fear for her life when Hendrix swung the knife possibly in an attempt to stab her.
Deputies spoke with Hendrix who provided a conflicting story. Hendrix stated that they were yelling at each other, but made no mention about the knife.
The victim’s father told deputies he tried separating the two during the argument, and also confirmed that Hendrix had the knife and raised it in the air as she approached his daughter.
Another witness told deputies that when she observed Hendrix attempting to attack the victim with a significantly large knife, the witness pushed the victim out of the way so she would not get stabbed.
Hendrix was placed under arrest and transported to Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $2,000.
