Wolfgang G. Langer, 96, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. He was born on December 26, 1921 in Leipzig, Germany.
Wolf was a German soldier. While fighting for Germany during WWII he was captured and became a prisoner of war. He was taken to Colorado where he remained a prisoner for 2 years. After being released he worked for the United States Army as a machinist and translator.
Wolf retired to Florida in 1988. He loved playing tennis with his wife and competed in many senior tournaments.
Survivors include his loving wife Hildegard Langer; son Rolf Langer; daughter Ingrid Langer; nephew Terry Peters (Fran Donze); and granddaughter Nicole Langer.
He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Ursula Langer (nee Bitzer).
A memorial service will be held at the Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, 914 W. Main St., Leesburg, FL 34748. Date and time is pending.
