Wife ordered into anger management after altercation in Village of Charlotte

Beth Sedita

A wife has been ordered into anger management after an altercation with her husband earlier this year in the Village of Charlotte.

Beth Sedita, 60, has been ordered to complete four hours of anger management after entering into a pre-trial intervention contract in Sumter County Court. She must also seek an alcohol evaluation and follow recommendations for treatment.

Last week, a court order was approved allowing her to return to her home on Dalkeith Terrace.

A Sumter County jury acquitted 63-year-old David Sedita in the Jan. 13 altercation with his wife.

The New Hampshire natives had been drinking at a local restaurant before heading home, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Each had consumed five to six alcoholic drinks, the report indicated.

During the drive home, they got into an argument over a lost debit card.

Beth Sedita allegedly punched her husband in the chest. When they arrived home, he reportedly held her against a freezer, punched her and pulled her hair. She locked herself in a bedroom, prompting her husband to bang on the door and eventually kick it in.

A deputy who arrived on the scene at the home on noted that Beth Sedita had a laceration over her eye that was “bleeding heavily.” There was also blood on the carpet.
