Weather threat relocates three Marion County high school graduation ceremonies

In anticipation of stormy weather conditions, three Marion County High Schools are moving their graduation ceremonies to the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion in Ocala.

With predictions for rain Friday and Saturday, students from Belleview, Dunnellon and Lake Weir High schools will graduate at the Ocala facility instead of their high school stadiums, which are uncovered and exposed to severe weather.

Dunnellon High students will graduate Friday at 6 p.m., followed by Belleview High’s graduation Saturday at 8 a.m. and Lake Weir’s ceremony Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, located at 2232 NE Jacksonville Rd. in Ocala, offers grandstand seating for 5,000 guests and is protected overhead from inclement weather. It also offers paved parking for 1,000 vehicles.
