Visitor in Village of Calumet Grove reports that her cell phone went missing

A woman visiting her parents in The Villages called a Marion County sheriff’s deputy for help Wednesday after realizing her work cell phone was missing.

The woman, who was staying with her parents in the Village of Calumet Grove, told the deputy that she used an airport van service at Orlando International Airport this past Saturday for her trip to The Villages. She said she had the iPhone 8 in the shuttle van but realized it was missing at 10 p.m. while unpacking at her parents’ home. The woman said the phone could have fallen out of her bag while on the van and she didn’t realize it, but the company told her they didn’t find it, a sheriff’s office report says.

The woman said the phone, which belongs to a Belgium-based company, is valued at $600. She told the deputy that she tried to track the phone via the program “Find My iPhone” but didn’t have any luck because it was turned off.
