Villages offers status updates on golf courses

The Villages District Office announced Tuesday that based on the rain in The Villages the past few weeks, there are a couple of golf course closures to help with reducing the water basin levels. Silver Lake and Sandhill golf courses are both scheduled to open on June 21.

In other areas in The Villages you may see irrigation in operation, also to reduce the water basin levels. Courses that are open may have some golf cart restrictions.

Amberwood, Oakleigh and starting Sunday, Tarpon Boil will be closed until further notice for maintenance.
