Villages-News.com team wins big at OBG Lions Club golf scramble

Villages-News.com took home top honors at the 30th annual Orange Blossom Garden Lions charity golf scramble held this weekend at Hacienda Hills Country Club.

The oldest scramble in The Villages, dozens of golfers participated for bragging rights and the top three spots. Proceeds from the scramble benefit Operation Homebound, a North Lake outreach program that delivers meals to shut-in clients in the Villages and surrounding area.

The top three teams were only separated by 2 shots, with the winning score at 22 under (50), followed by 21 under (51) for second and 20 under (50) for third. Representing the winning team was Jeremiah Delgado, Jason Bender, Timothy Taber, and Ron Clark.

The Orange Blossom Garden Lions Club is one of the oldest clubs in The Villages. Sponsors for this year’s event included Baum, maker of equipment for the visually impaired, and Fross & Fross, a wealth management firm in The Villages.
