The Opera Club of The Villages paid tribute to Oscar Feliu’s memory by doing what he believed in: helping young musicians.
This week, the Opera club presented the Oscar Feliu award to a pair of Villages High School seniors during a ceremony at the Savannah  Center.
Sabrina Perez, a singer, and Eric Taupier, an instrumentalist, each received a $1,500 for their outstanding support and contribution to the Music Department.
The event was not part of the Opera Club Scholarship Program, but, rather, an award to honor Feliu, a founder of the club.
The Music Faculty helped select two students —  one from the Instrumental Department and one from the Vocal Department — who exemplified the qualities of Oscar Feliu.
The awards were presented by Gerri Piscitelli, president of the club and board member, Pat Reed.
