The Cubs World made a major announcement at its meeting earlier this month.
The club announced the introduction of CubsWorld.org as a go-to source of information about the Chicago Cubs. The site will be of interest to all Cubs’ fans, not just those in The Villages.
The site will have three published authors of the history of the Cubs and their famous all-star players contributing as the site grows.
Club members can use private areas on the website to join the club, receive e-mail information about its activities for Villagers, purchase tickets for club events online, review their accounts and get to know their fellow club members by building profiles about their own interest in the Cubs.
The purpose of the club is to mobilize Cubs’ fans in The Villages through social activities that support youth sports activities in the area and other charitable causes.
The club has already made donations to the Salvation Army Hurricane Relief Fund.
More than 100 members of the Cubs World met at the Colony Cottage Recreation Center for the November meeting.
