Florida State Sen. Dennis Baxley and an attorney general candidate highlight the agenda for Monday’s Villagers for Trump meeting.
Baxley, of Lady Lake, whose district includes Sumter County and parts of Lake and Marion counties, will be on-hand to chat with constituents. He has represented District 12 since 2016 and has sponsored stand your ground legislation, opposed a two-year moratorium on the sale of AR-15 assault rifles and supported preserving Confederate memorials, flags and statues.
State Rep. Frank White, who hopes to win the Republican nomination to succeed term-limited Attorney General Pam Biondi, also will mingle with guests at the meeting.
Since 2016, White has represented House District 2, which includes the eastern part of the Florida Panhandle along with much of the Big Bend region along the Emerald Coast. If elected, he has promised to “stand up for conservative values” and protect consumers – especially seniors – in the role as chief legal officer for the state and head of the Florida Department of Legal Affairs.
Author John Michael Chambers will serve as keynote speaker and talk about his latest book, “Trump and the Resurrection of America,” which examines the huge setbacks the president’s upset victory has created for the “shadow government of this world.”
Monday’s meeting will be held at SeaBreeze Recreation Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting gets under way at 7 p.m.
