Villager’s car window broken at Holiday Inn Express

A Villager who works at the Holiday Inn Express in The Villages called Lady Lake police for help Tuesday after discovering the back window of her car was “busted.”

The woman said the window was intact when she parked in front of the hotel at 8 a.m. But she discovered the damage when her shift ended at 2:30 p.m., a police report states. The woman said nothing else on the car was tampered with and nothing from inside was missing.

The woman also told the officer that she was going through a breakup with her boyfriend and she believes his new girlfriend broke out the window. She said she’s been in the process of moving out of the ex-boyfriend’s house and the girlfriend, who works at a nearby doctor’s office, “has been threatening to beat her up if she did not leave as soon as possible.”

The report states that other than the woman’s suspicions, there was no evidence at the scene to connect the ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend to the crime. There also were no surveillance cameras facing that area of the parking lot.
