Michelle Stichion

A Villager told law enforcement she “really didn’t know why” she attempted to steal a 16-inch bracelet.

Michelle Maria Stichion, 57, of the Village of Mallory Square, was arrested Thursday afternoon at Bealls on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Lady Lake.

Witnesses indicated that Stichion went to the jewelry kiosk and removed a “Pure 100” 16-inch bracelet valued at $35, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

She put the bracelet in her left pants pocket and left the store. Two witnesses confronted her outside the store and retrieved the bracelet from Stichion.

She was arrested on a charge of petit theft and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $500 bond.
