Villager who drank wine at Bonefish Grill arrested after boyfriend calls law enforcement

A Villager who said she drank wine at Bonefish Grill was arrested early Wednesday morning after her boyfriend called law enforcement.

Elizabeth A. Demo, 62, who lives in the Phillips Villas in the Village of Woodbury, was arrested after her  boyfriend reported that she was at his home on Hampton Lane in the Village of Belle Aire “causing problems,” according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy arrived on the scene and was told that Demo left in a grey Mazda Miata. The boyfriend said she had been drinking and shouldn’t be driving.

The deputy located the vehicle and asked Demo if she had been drinking. She said she had consumed two glasses of wine at Bonefish Grill, the arrest report indicated.

She failed field sobriety exercises and was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
