Villager arrested for second time in a week after returning home in Village of Winifred

Henry Robert Mabry

A Villager was arrested for the second time in a week after returning home in the Village of Winifred.

Henry Robert Mabry, 76, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his home on Rosebury Loop for violating a conditional release from jail following his arrest after an alleged attack on his wife this past Friday.

Mabry had been released at 12:39 p.m. Saturday from the Sumter County Detention Center after posting $1,000 bond. A judge had ordered him to stay away from the Rosebury Loop residence.

When Sumter County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Mabry was in the master bedroom with the lights turned off, according to an arrest report.

He was taken into custody and booked at the jail where he was being held Wednesday night without bond.

Mabry’s wife sought refuge Friday night at a neighbor’s home after her husband of 30 years attacked her over a disagreement over their dog.
