A 76-year-old Villager arrested last month after multiple 911 calls were received from his home in the Village of Glenbrook has landed back behind bars.

Ronnie Thea Wheeler was booked Wednesday afternoon at the Sumter County Detention Center on a warrant charging him with failure to appear.

He had been arrested last month on a misdemeanor charge of misuse of 911 after Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were repeatedly called to his home on Bloomington Place.

At the time of his arrest, he had been asked why he kept calling 911.

“Just to piss you guys off,” Wheeler replied.
