Village of Sabal Chase man arrested after two-car crash on County Road 466A

A Village of Sabal Chase man was arrested after a two-car crash on County Road 466A.

Fruitland Park police responded to the accident scene at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday night on CR466A at North Valley Road.

The driver of one of the vehicle’s said he had been slowing down to make a left turn onto North Valley Road when his vehicle was struck by a car driven by 44-year-old Joseph Vito Izzarone of The Villages. Both cars were towed from the scene.

A police officer suspected Izzarone had been drinking. While Izzarone took part in some field sobriety exercises, he refused to perform the one leg stand, according to an arrest report.

He provided breath samples that registered .192 and .191 blood alcohol content.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
