Village of Lake Deaton woman arrested after caught driving after losing license after DUI

Stephanie Marie Reed

A Village of Lake Deaton woman was arrested early Saturday morning after she was caught driving after losing her license after a drunk driving arrest this past year.

Stephanie Marie Reed, 29, of 3701 New Moon Ave., was pulled over at 1:49 a.m. for traveling 73 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone on U.S. 301, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

She provided the police officer with a Florida ID card, prompting the officer to ask about the status of Reed’s driver’s license.

“I shouldn’t even be on the road driving right now, I’m just going to pick up some friends who are drunk and need a ride,” Reed told the officer.

A check revealed several suspensions, including a March 19 suspension for failure to complete substance abuse treatment. Reed had been arrested last year, also on U.S. 301, on a charge of driving under the influence after she flunked an alphabet test.

She was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $500 bond.
