To the Editor:
I am a new resident in the Village of Fenney. I will be away for four months – May to August. I called Wildwood Utilities to turn off my water for four months. I am a former resident of Pinellas Park, FL and did this each year so I would not be charged. There was a cost for turning water back on but very minimal. I was told Wildwood does NOT do this. They will charge you every month if you are here or not.
I think this is very wrong considering many Villagers leave for long periods of time. Why should we pay for water we are not using when we are away for a long period of time. I have no problem with a fee to turn water back on but why should I pay for months of unused water?
Why is Wildwood not following what other places do like Pinellas Park? I see no reason to pay for water I will not be using. I think Wildwood owes us a response and maybe a change in policy.
