Veronica Elizabeth Wagner, resident of the Villages, Florida, formerly of Harmony Township, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Elan Memory Care. She was 83 years old. Veronica was born Veronica Elizabeth Sliwiak on February 3, 1935 to Thomas & Rose Sliwiak.
She was raised in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Ambridge High School. She worked alongside her husband Ed, building a successful auto salvage business. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Ambridge, PA, and also St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, The Villages, FL.
In addition to raising six children, Veronica golfed, played cards, water skied, and traveled extensively. She was a member of Western PA Women’s Golf Association.
Veronica was kind and accepting of everyone she met.
Veronica will be sadly missed by her husband of 63 ¾ years Edward Sr.; children, Edward Jr. (Cindi), Karen Little (George), James Wagner (Sonna), Monica Taylor (Glenn), Ramona Sangermano (Jim), Gregory Wagner (Renee), 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother, Louis Sliwiak (Elia), and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Sliwiak; sister Evelyn Sliwiak, and her best friend Rose Montagna.
Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 2 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral & Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
