Undefeated Marion County firefighters nab gold medal in First Responder Games softball tournament

Marion County Fire Rescue’s softball team took home the gold medal from the First Responder Games in Fort Myers recently.

Marion County Fire Rescue’s softball team dominated the First Responder Games in Fort Myers recently.

Twenty-four teams from fire departments, police departments and military units from throughout the Sunshine State competed in the tournament, with Marion County Fire Rescue being the only one to go undefeated in six games.

The team was comprised of Daniel Smith, Jared Caswell, Davy Jones, Adam Grace, Kyle Grace, Josh Nichols, Brian Gentry, Danny Michaux, Danny Cribbs, Lake Raymond, Tony Moos and Marion County Sheriff’s Det. Paxton Sapp.

Golf course deserves a failing grade
