Two new police officers in Fruitland Park, another officer has resigned

fppd-1Bryan Wilson and Sarah Hurst have been promoted from reserves to full-time status with the Fruitland Park Police Department.

The department now has 13 full-time and three part-time officers, said Fruitland Park Police Chief Terry Isaacs, who is also a resident of the Village of Belvedere.

Wilson is from Leesburg. Hurst is a resident of Fruitland Park.

Officer Brent Tyler resigned Aug. 29, after having been put on administrative leave having been suspected of leaking sensitive information.

However, prosecutors have opted not to bring the case against Tyler as they felt they did not have sufficient evidence to prosecute, Isaacs said.
