Trio arrested after attempting to wheel out cart containing $1,000 in stolen merchandise at Wal-Mart

Three men were arrested after they attempted to wheel out a shopping cart loaded with more than $1,000 worth of stolen merchandise at Wal-Mart in Summerfield.

Taken into custody in connection with the incident on Tuesday were 18-year-old Cody Chance Guthrie of Summerfield, 19-year-old Clayton Jade Rodrick of Umatilla and 20-year-old Mark Wiggins Jr. who is homeless, according to arrest reports from the Marion County sheriff’s office.

All three were arrested on charges of retail theft and booked at the Marion County Jail.
