Thomas Joseph McDonnell

Thomas Joseph McDonnell, 71, of Florida, NY, formerly of The Villages, FL, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Mr. McDonnell was born August 30, 1946 in the Bronx, NY to Eugene Joseph and Anne Mary (Dempsey) McDonnell.

He was a U.S, Air Force, Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the NY State Board of Education and was of the Catholic faith. Thomas enjoyed watching sports, especially wrestling, and playing poker with friends and family. He returned to NY in 2017 from The Villages.

Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Leslie and Scott Hill of Florida, NY and 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Brayden Hill. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Carol and 2 brothers, John and Eugene.

Interment will be in the Florida National Cemetery and a memorial service will be planned soon.
