Suspected shoplifter arrested after second trip to Target hoping to raise money to pay his rent

Dwayne J. Bell

A suspected shoplifter was arrested after his second trip to Target at Rolling Acres Plaza.

Dwayne J. Bell, 32, of Ocala, was arrested Thursday afternoon after he attempted to leave the store with a pair of Beats headphones for which he had not paid, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The headphones were valued at $99.99.

A Target loss prevention officer recognized Bell from a Jan. 14 incident in which he also stole Beats headphones from the store. Bell had eluded apprehension in that instance. That pair of headphones was valued at $149.99.

When asked by police why he had stolen the headsets, he said he needed the money to pay his rent, the arrest report indicated.

He was arrested on two charges of petit theft and booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,000 bond.
