A man with marijuana was arrested after a police officer investigated a report of a suspicious person at Wildwood City Hall.
The man, who was wearing all black, had been spotted hiding in the shadows at about 11:30 p.m. Friday at city hall at 100 N. Main St., according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
An officer caught up with the man, identified as 39-year-old John Terrell Jackson, and a search turned up a homemade pipe. Jackson admitted he had used the pipe to smoke “Molly,” a slang term for methamphetamine. A second pipe was found in Jackson’s pocket and had the residue of burnt marijuana. A bag containing 3.4 grams of marijuana was found in Jackson’s sock.
Jackson was arrested on charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $2,000 bond.
