The Community Development District 5 Board of Supervisors has voted to put up signage in an attempt to inform parking violators of their abuse.
The signs will be going up in the Jasper Villas.
The problem is owners putting second vehicles in parking spaces designed for guests.
“It came to a head in the high season,” said CDD 5 Chairman Walter Martin, a resident of the Jasper Villas.
There are 63 units in the Jasper Villas.
“We all know who the four offenders are. It would remind the abusers of their offense,” Martin said.
There are virtually no enforcement powers, so a fellow supervisor wondered about their effectiveness.
“People who are abusing it, know they are abusing it. It’s about as helpful as another 35 miles per hour sign on Buena Vista Boulevard,” said CDD 5 Chuck Wildzunas.
The board agreed to move ahead with the signage.
