Villager Joe Elliott is the new president of the Sumter Landing Republican Club.
Elliott, who had been serving as the group’s vice president, has ascended to the position following the resignation of Ron McMahon who had recently been elected president. McMahon had succeeded Gary Davis as president. Davis had reached the limit of two terms.
Elliott, who last year was appointed a supervisor in Community Development District 8, has been busy with the local GOP clubs and this Thursday will be leading both the Sumter Landing Republican Club and the Villages Republican Club of Sumter County, through a discussion about social media.
The special combined meeting of the clubs will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Savannah Center.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
