Summerfield man who did not pay child support arrested after caught driving on suspended license

Anthony Cannatella

A 47-year-old Summerfield man who did not pay child support was arrested after he was caught driving on a suspended license.

Anthony Robert Cannatella was driving a white Toyota SUV at 10:17 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 301 when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed the vehicle did not have a light illuminating the tag.

“I don’t have my license with me, I left it at home,” Cannatella initially told the deputy.

He then admitted “there might be some child support issues on the license,” according to the arrest report.

The deputy confirmed Cannatella’s license was suspended.

The New York native was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $500 bond.
