Summerfield man killed in second fatal accident this week on County Road 42 in Marion County

A 32-year-old Summerfield man was killed in the second fatal accident this week on County Road 42 in Marion County.

Ralph Burton Ford was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which occurred at 2:40 a.m. Friday on County Road 42, west of SE 47th Avenue, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

He had been at the wheel of a 2001 Mercury Cougar that had been traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle. It landed on its roof and struck a tree.

The report noted he had not been wearing a seatbelt.

Earlier this week, a 35-year-old Summerfield man was killed in an accident on County Road 42.
