Summerfield man arrested after running from scene of altercation

A 34-year-old Summerfield man was arrested Monday night after running from the scene of an altercation at his residence.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene in the 2500 block of SE 179th Place.

A man showed deputies an injury he had suffered to the left side of his face. The alleged assailant, Justin J. Bennett, ran from the scene and jumped a fence.

He was later taken into custody on a charge of resisting arrest. He was also wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to pay child support.

He was booked at the Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000.
