Marion County school bus driver ticketed after rear-ending vehicle on State Road 40

No students were injured when a Marion County school bus rear-ended a car on State Road 40 just after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Tieljuanwa Green, 50, of Ocala, was driving the 2004 school bus west in the outside lane when she failed to realize that the driver in front of her was slowing down to make a right turn onto NW 68th Avenue, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

Green’s bus collided with a 2014 Chevrolet Spark driven by 28-year-old Rebekah Merlino, resulting in minor damage. Both Green and Merlino were wearing seat belts and weren’t injured. None of the 12 students in the bus were hurt, either.

Green was cited for the crash, the report says.
