To the Editor:
Isn’t it about time to stop using the phrase “Snowbird” to identify or stigmatize people? The phrase was probably cutesy-poo a generation or two ago. Year-round residents are never identified with a corresponding term such as, “Sweatbird.” Either would be superfluous to almost every story, along the lines of tall, short, obese. Yes, those descriptions might be justified to find a missing person or fugitive but not in the majority of cases.
