Soggy conditions forcing several Villages golf courses to remain closed

Heavy rainfall the past few days and soggy conditions are keeping several golf courses in The Villages from opening for business.

Championship courses that are closed include: Orange Blossom Hills (through Wednesday, May 30), Hacienda Hills (through Thursday, May 31), Glenview Champions (through the morning of Saturday, May 25) and Lopez Legacy (through Saturday, May 25).

Executive courses that are shut down through Wednesday, May 30, include: Silver Lake, Hill Top, Chula Vista, Mira Mesa and El Santiago.

Villages golf officials are warning that more rainfall could force even more closures in the coming days. And golfers should expect some cart restrictions on various courses.
