Silver Springs man arrested after showing up uninvited at woman’s carport

A Silver Springs man was arrested after showing up uninvited at a woman’s carport on Wednesday in Marion County.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call at about 7:30 a.m. regarding a suspicious person in a carport of a home located on SE 27th Lane, according to an arrest report. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the homeowner who said that a man identified as 25-year-old Austin Jake Waugh does not live at the location and she does not know who he is. The homeowner told deputies she wanted Waugh trespassed from the location.

Around 8:56 a.m., MCSO received another call for service regarding Waugh returning to the property after being trespassed approximately 10 minutes prior.

Deputies arrived a the location and placed Waugh under arrest. He was transported to Marion County Jail where he was held at $1,000 bond.
