Sharon Sunbury

Sharon Sunbury, 73, of Summerfield, FL, passed away on May 17, 2018 at Brandley Hospice House. Sharon was born in Waterbury, CT on June 24. 1944.

She had worked for over 25 years as a Supervisor and Social Worker for the State of Connecticut. Sharon volunteered for many years at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church Soup Kitchen and was an avid supporter, contributor, and fundraiser for Rally for the Cure. Sharon loved golfing, painting, and cooking. She was a beloved member of the Nifty Niners Golf Club and the St. Theresa’ Catholic Church Ladies Guild.

Sharon is survived by two sisters, Barbara Durante (Marty) and Anne Woodley; brother, Michael Woodley (Betty); granddaughter, Robin Flis; great granddaughter Sharon Marie Flis; and long-time friend, Marie Hammond.

She is preceded in death by her son, Richard Sunbury.

A Memorial Mass is to be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10 a.m., at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 11528 SE Hwy. 301, Belleview, FL 34420 with a reception to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
