A secret lockbox for a key was reportedly damaged earlier this week at Paradise Recreation Center.
The manager of the recreation center on the Historic Side of The Villages on Tuesday afternoon contacted the Lady Lake Police Department. She showed the police officer a box that was originally used to house an electrical junction, but recreation staff had repurposed it as a key lockbox to house a key for staff arriving early. A tab and lock to the box had been broken off, according to an incident report from the police department.
The manager said a key inventory would be conducted.
